iPhone Seismography

This video is part of a resource on Seismic Waves. It shows how vibrations along the three different axes (x,y,z) can be represented graphically using a Seismographer. I used an iPhone with the iSeismo Application and it worked very well. The iPhone is blue tacked on a platform with springs, ideal to simulate vertical and horizontal movements. This resource asks open questions to the audience to encourage thinking and it could be used at the begging of a lesson on Seismic Waves and then revisited at the end to check the pupils' progress! Students can use it as a revision tool as well!
